I love seeing/hearing/reading how God is using you all to minister to the people in New Orleans and I can imagine, even to one another. You are a light in a dark place and you are truly the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. I am so proud of you all and are deeply inspired by what you are doing. Praying for you daily...love, Kara's mom :)

Great post, Joe! I actually participated in a "world banquet" like the one described above last semester during a poverty simulation. It was very humbling, and made me rethink my consumption and materialistic attitude. God calls us to be good stewards of all that He has blessed us with. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a good meal every now and then, but we should be aware that there are others in the world who do not get the right amount of nourishment every day. I also recently came across a website that works to end world hunger in the name of Christ. It's an organization called Bread for the World. You should check it out! http://www.bread.org/

That's good stuff!

One of our college ministry partners, Salt & Light Christian Fellowship at Purdue, had the same idea when naming their facilities. Right now their main location is known as The International Friendship house. Which is okay considering they are a ministry focused on international students. But their new location will be called Crosswalk Commons, a place they want to be know for connecting people, culture, and truth.

I really like "the202" name.
God bless!
