What are CCF’s core beliefs?

We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is the Creator of man and all things. (Matthew 3:16-17; John 14:9-10; Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28)

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, took on the sins of the world when He was crucified, had a bodily resurrection from the grave to defeat the power of sin and death, and is the only Savior of the world. (John 3:16; Matthew 1:18; John 20:24-31; Luke 24:1-8; Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:8-11; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8)

We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within every Christian. (Acts 2:38; 2 Timothy 1:14)

We believe the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and is the final authority for all matters of faith. (Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16)

We believe that man, created by God, willfully sinned, and as a result, is lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:7)

We believe the Bible teaches to receive Jesus as Savior is to believe in Christ as God’s Son and Savior of the world, to repent of personal sin, to confess Christ as Lord, to be immersed in baptism and to remain faithful. (Luke 24:45-47; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; 2 Peter 3:9)

We believe the church is the body and bride of Christ consisting of all Christians everywhere. (Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 1 & 2)

We believe death seals the eternal destiny of each person. The faithful will inherit eternal life; the unsaved, eternal separation from God. (Romans 8:10-11; Daniel 12:2; John 6:47)

What is our understanding of salvation?

We believe God’s Word teaches that we are saved by grace and not by our own works in keeping the Law (Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe that faith without obedience and action is dead (James 2:14-26). We believe that “faith in Christ” throughout scripture contains all of these points:

  • Belief in Jesus – Acts 16:31

  • Repentance and turning from sin – Acts 17:30

  • Confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior – Matthew 10:32

  • Being baptized by water immersion into Christ – Acts 2:38, I Peter 3:31

  • Continuing to be faithful and obedient to Jesus – I Cor 15:58, 1 Peter 1:13-16, James 2:17

  • Having a living hope for eternal salvation – 1 Peter 1:3, 1 John 5:13
